The Side of Sauce

“Could I get the sauce on the side?” asked the customer.

“Of course,” said the server.

“My left side, please.”

The server paused. The customer clarified that they meant the left side of the plate, as viewed from the kitchen. The sauce arrived on the correct side. Both parties grew in confidence.
